Mission
Soar Mentoring Program, is a  501 (c) (3) charitable youth outreach organization. 
Our mission is to prevent delinquency, assist students cultivate skills in literacy, social development, and to enhance their academic performance and peer associations. 
 

*Soar Mentoring Program provides mentoring in a interactive focused group setting.  Mentors and mentees will engage and participate in activities and relevant group discussion that promote self awareness and personal accountability.

​*Our organization also offers  other community based programs intended to
decrease health disparities in vulnerable populations , empower families to flourish in their own communities, and to help students understand and participate in civic engagement.

About Our Founder:
​
​By profession, Alicia Sayas holds a Bachelor of Arts  and MSW in Social Work from Howard University.  She is a first generation Belizean American and a 25 year licensed social worker veteran and crisis response therapist.  Ms. Sayas is a proud military mom of two wonderful children, a MOMS Demand Action for Gun Sense in America volunteer, feminist, social justice activist, and a diabetes ambassador with the American Diabetes Association.  She delights in spending time with close friends and family. Ms. Sayas is a member of Reid Temple AME, located in Glendale, Maryland. She believes volunteering is "good medicine" and has a heart to serve her community and undeserved populations.
